Kinder Institute on Constitutional Democracy

Kinder Institute on Constitutional Democracy

As a signature academic center at Mizzou, the Kinder Institute on Constitutional Democracy combines history, political science and other coursework to provide an in-depth examination of our country’s founding principles and their continued relevance today. The coursework, along with a series of community presentations, allows students, faculty and community members to engage in spirited yet civil discussions on political beliefs and persuasions.

Kinder Scholars D.C. Summer Program

Juniors and seniors in the Constitutional Democracy program can participate in a summer internship in Washington, D.C. When you support these internships, you allow students to expand their horizons and change their trajectory for lifelong success.

Students participating in the D.C. Summer Program live together in dormitory-style housing and work at think tanks, trade associations and on Capitol Hill. They complete a three-credit-hour course and do weekly tours of Washington sites, such as Monticello, the National Archives and the CIA. These students are more likely to complete their degree on time, further their education with a graduate degree and have access to better jobs because of the experience.
