Campus Support

Campus Support

Pride, passion and purpose; all lead alumni and friends to invest in Mizzou. Maintaining our status as one of the world's leading research universities requires the resources to compete for top students and faculty. Gifts of every size make the university stronger and more vibrant by supporting our students, faculty, programs and campus.

Mizzou Alternative Break Gift Fund

Founded in 1991, Mizzou Alternative Breaks (MAB) sends groups of students on service trips during weekend, Thanksgiving, winter, spring, and summer breaks. Each year, more than 1,500 Mizzou students spend their weekends or academic breaks serving with MAB. This makes MAB the largest alternative breaks program in the nation — something we are proud of, as it shows how committed Mizzou students are to giving back to other communities.

Participants enter communities with the mindset of “serve, don’t help,” one of the program’s guiding principles. During these trips, students learn about the communities they are visiting, the issues they are working with and their fellow classmates. 91% of 2018-2019 participants said their trip helped them come to a greater understanding of the social issue being addressed by the trip, and 94% said their trip influenced their desire to participate in service or advocacy locally.

To make these life-changing service experiences financially accessible for all students, we keep our participant fee below cost and each trip participates in group fundraising efforts to raise the needed funds for their trip. Thank you for donating to Mizzou Alternative Breaks and making this service experience possible for Mizzou students!

Mizzou Scholarship Fund

For many, the financial costs of higher education can be a barrier to success. Scholarships can break down those barriers, ensuring our brightest students become our most educated, capable citizens.

Your gift to the Mizzou Scholarship Fund will help us maintain a talented and diverse student body, regardless of our students' financial status. Additionally, recipients of scholarships are able to devote more time and energy to their coursework and extracurricular activities, enhancing the educational opportunities available to them.

Thanks to donor generosity and scholarship funding, MU is able to attract more high school valedictorians, Curators Scholars and Bright Flight Scholars than any other college or university in Missouri. Help us maintain our status as a destination university with your gift today, and we can pave the way for the scholars of tomorrow.
