Below you will find answers to many common questions about Mizzou Giving Day 2024.
Why should I participate?
Mizzou is committed to keeping its costs low and investing heavily in financial support for students, but donor support is still essential to remain affordable. Gifts made through Mizzou Giving Day help schools, colleges and programs support the transformative student experience, innovative research and community service that ensure MU's place as a top-tier institution.
What is Mizzou Giving Day?
Our annual 24-hour campaign involves the entire Tiger family making a concentrated impact through charitable giving. Support what you love most about Mizzou, and join thousands of other Tigers in making a difference!
How can I make a donation?
You can make your gift online at givingday.missouri.edu or by calling 866-267-7568. You can also call this number for instructions on mailing your gift. Gifts received by mail also count toward Mizzou Giving Day.
Can I make a gift via stock, an estate gift or other planned gift?
Yes, you may make a gift of stock or other planned gifts to a favorite school, program or cause to support Mizzou Giving Day. Please contact the Office of Gift Planning at 800-970-9977 or email giftplanning@missouri.edu for more information.
Can I make a payroll deduction as an employee of Mizzou?
Mizzou faculty and staff can set up a new payroll deduction by visiting mymizzou.missouri.edu. Please note that only the first month’s deduction will count toward Mizzou Giving Day.
I’ve made a gift. What else can I do to help?
Share the #MizzouGivingDay hashtag on your social channels, and encourage other Tigers to answer the call by making a gift of their own! You can also participate in special social media challenges throughout the day, helping to unlock funds for the school, college or program of your choice.
When will the social media challenges winners and recipients be announced?
Winners will be notified on social media shortly after each challenge ends, and the unit or area receiving the funds will be announced on the challenges page.
Can I manage the number of emails I receive about Mizzou Giving Day?
Of course! You can manage your Mizzou Giving Day email preferences online by logging in at Mizzou.com and selecting "Subscription Management" under your profile settings. Please note that changes may take up to 48 hours to go into effect.
Individual schools, colleges and programs may also be independently sending messages during this time — it's a big day for generosity!
What if my fund isn't listed?
Select the relevant department or program, then select "Other" from the list of designated funds and manually enter the fund name. You can find additional funds and areas of support at mizzougivedirect.missouri.edu.
Is my gift tax deductible?
Yes! Your donation to Mizzou Giving Day is 100% tax-deductible. We will email a receipt for tax purposes.
